GENERAL

Greatly improved interface including Standard and Advanced level options; improved graphics throughout, including Gradient fill options

Greatly improved axes appearance (including graph paper effect)

Newly commissioned web site

Interactive Whiteboard facilities: built-in scribble and rub-out tools, and a new on-screen keyboard

• Newly commissioned "Arial for Autograph" true-type Unicode Font

including two useless keys put to work: ` => – (MINUS) and ¬ => × (MULTIPLY)

Autograph "Extras" incorporated into Autograph as "Flash" pages

Edit: Unlimited Undo and Redo, and select-all objects; eExpanded Preferences settings

New Modes toolbar, containing all the operational modes and zooms.

• The Help File -now nearly 300 pages long, presented in 'Flash', all inter-inked from each dialogue box..

• Constant Controller - This now allows multiple constant animations to be set up and started at the same time; can be all run from the on-screen keyboard

• Hide/View Status Bar - in case not needed in the classroom

• Standard Level [previously 'Junior'] - snap setting (2D)
New toolbar options to set the 'snap' settings for points to 1 or 1/10

Facility to create "instructions window", saved with current Autograph page.

Autograph Resources - associated application installed with Autograph, contains Flash demos and other resources.

NEW WORDS: "Group" is now => "Shape", and "Cursor" is now => "Point"

1D STATISTICS

Raw data entry: greatly improved - accepts column headers from Excel

Grouped data entry improved:
- new "include extra class" option (eg full marks)
- New "f-x" entry system for Grouped Data
- "Recalculate" options for class intervals and frequencies improved.

Line Graphs and Moving Averages - from discrete grouped data

Box plots improved:
- can contruct from just Min, Q1, Median, Q3 and max
- can plot from raw data or from grouped data

Data types: Clear indication of "Raw", "Grouped" and "Grouped with Raw"
Cumulative Frequency Curve - improved fitting options
Autosale and auto-label - on each first plot.

2D GRAPHING and Coordinate Geometry

Vector equation of a line - new top level object

Shapes:
- selection now by clicking on the coloured area
- individual points in shapes can be dragged.

• plotting improved

- including y = x^(a/b) to cope with negative indices when x < 0
- Startup options now allow control of domain
- Piecwise: now set to start of each then the final of the last one

Maclauring Series - plotted dynamically

• Constructed circle and any straight line selected

- Intersection points now found

• Point mode: Hold CTRL for Intersections
- This will identify INTERSECTIONS (either f(x) = 0, or f(x) = g(x)

• 2D XY Data set dialogue box:
- Improved pasting of data from Excel, including Column Headers
- Options to use headers as lebels, and to perform 'autoscale' on exit
- Residuals: new option "always square" when aspect is not equal

• Polar grid
- Edit Axes => Options => Grid sub-divisions implement for polar grid.

Parametric plotting improved
- placing a point intelligently finds an editable value of 't'
- new options: show velocity and acceleration

• 2D Implicit plotting
Default step increased to 100, and permissible range to 200

• Piecewise start-up
2 vectors: scalar product; angle between vectors
2 lines: angle between lines
1 line and a point: closest distance

• New axes options
-
Equal aspect mode now adjusts by altering the 'x'-spacing to fit the 'y'
- No axes - for construction work

3D GRAPHING and Coordinate Geometry

3D GRAPHING: this is a completely new section

3D Coordinate geometry
- points, lines, planes
- shortest distances, perpendiculars

3D Vectors
- sum, difference, scalar and vector products
- lines and planes derived from vectors

3D Surfaces
- z = f(x,y)
- second degree equations (the cone and conic sections)
- general implicit plotting
- polar plotting: cylindrical and polar coordinates

3D Parametric line plotting
- x = f(t), y = f(t), z = f(t) full control over the parameter
- placing points on the line finds an intelligent value of 't'
- show velocity and acceleration vectors

3D shapes
- enlargement, rotation (based on a point)
- reflection in a plane
- by 3x3 matrix
